The Delicate Issue of Spirituality:
Recent research by the Higher Education Research Institute at the UCLA's Graduate School of Education & Information Studies found that four in five students have an interest in spirituality, three-fourths say they are "searching for meaning or purpose in life" and more than three-fourths believe in God. Despite these statistics, which are equally strong for mid-career professionals, many individuals believe that their spiritual lives are supposed to be confined to a circumscribed area—and the smaller, and the more private this area, the better.
As a specialized and distinct organization, Still Harbor combats this tendency by providing opportunities–within an interfaith environment-- to explore questions of meaning, purpose or value.
